PVC waterproofing membrane welding temperature and speed requirements

The welding temperature and speed of PVC waterproofing coils are key parameters to ensure welding quality, and need to be adjusted according to the welding method, material thickness and environmental conditions. The following are detailed requirements and precautions:

1. Welding temperature requirements

Hot air welding

Temperature range: Usually use a hot air temperature of 350~500to ensure that the surface and overlap of the coil are fully melted.

Adjustment factors: Thicker materials require higher temperatures, and the ambient temperature is appropriately increased by 5~10when the ambient temperature is low.

Hot wedge welding (automatic crawling welder)

Temperature setting: The welding machine temperature is usually set to 300~450, which is adjusted according to the equipment model and coil thickness.

Double weld control: The temperature of the welding nozzle must be uniform to ensure that the two welds are formed simultaneously.

Ambient temperature

The construction ambient temperature is recommended to be 5. Preheating or suspension of work is required in low temperature environments to avoid loose bonding.

2. Welding speed requirements

Hot air welding

Manual operation: The speed is controlled at 0.1~0.3 m/min, and the movement is kept at a constant speed to avoid sudden speed changes.

Tips: The welding gun is at a 45° angle to the weld, and the overlap edge is heated evenly.

Hot wedge welding

Automatic welding machine: The speed is usually 0.2~0.5 m/min, which needs to be adjusted in real time according to the temperature.

Uniform pressure: Ensure that the pressure of the welding wheel is consistent to avoid leaking or over-welding.

III. Precautions

Pretreatment

Clean the joints, remove dust, oil and moisture, and ensure dryness.

Parameter verification

Perform trial welding before formal construction, adjust the temperature and speed, and perform peeling test (weld strength should be parent material).

Quality inspection

The weld should be continuous, without bubbles or gaps, and the air pressure channel tightness should be tested for hot wedge welding.

Environmental impact

Windproof measures should be taken in windy weather to prevent hot air from escaping; operations should be suspended in high humidity environments.
