How to construct polyurea waterproof coating and its dosages?

Dosage to be used

One kilogram of polyurea waterproof coating can spray about 0.83 square meters under the condition of spraying 1mm per square meter. If the spraying thickness increases, such as 1.5-2mm, the dosage per square meter will increase to about 1.2 kilograms. In addition, the quality of polyurea coating will also affect the dosage, and good quality coatings will produce more ‌.

Construction method

Preparation‌: Prepare waterproof membrane, waterproof coating, round waterproof coating mixing bucket, measuring tools, scraper and other tools. Waterproof coating must be proportioned according to the product instructions. Usually the ratio of component A to component B is 2:1, and the mixing amount is preferably 30kg each time ‌.

‌Stirring‌: Mix component A and component B in proportion and stir evenly. The stirring time is about 3-5 minutes until the mixed liquid emits a black and shiny luster . If the temperature is below 5℃, 3-8% of diluent can be added or the components can be preheated with indirect steam, but open flame heating is strictly prohibited ‌.

‌Construction‌: Pour the well-mixed waterproof coating from one end and apply it to the other end with a scraper. The brushing width is about 90cm and the brushing thickness is 1.5mm. The two coats should be connected well‌.

Substrate treatment‌: Pre-treat according to different substrates (such as metal or concrete). Metal substrates need to be sandblasted to Sa2.5 level, and concrete substrates need to be shot blasted or cleaned with high-pressure water guns to remove dust and scum on the surface‌4.

Special treatment‌: Pre-spray an additional layer of 0.5mm at the corners, and spray an additional layer of no less than 100mm wide around the pipelines that pass through the waterproof layer‌4.

‌Environmental requirements‌: Pay attention to environmental conditions during on-site construction, and avoid construction in windy environments to reduce waste‌1.

High tensile strength‌: tensile strength ≥10MPa‌

‌High elongation at break‌: elongation at break ≥300%‌

‌Good low-temperature bending performance‌: no peeling and cracking at -40℃‌

‌Good impermeability‌: impermeable under 0.4MPa pressure‌

‌High bonding strength‌: high bonding strength to cement mortar‌
